The Engage!™ All Families
Workshop is designed to create positive and productive school
cultures to advance the achievement of all students. We enable
participants to develop a measurable plan to develop partnerships
between schools, students, and their families. Upon completion
of the conference, participants will be able to:
- Learn how to develop dynamic relationships between the three
critical groups involved in a successful Family Engagement
process: Leadership, Staff, and Families (including students).
Determine how those relationships can lead to remarkable
achievement results for school organizations.
- Understand federal and appropriate state legislation regarding
family engagement and how to apply that legislation through
the essential components of a Family Friendly School thus
creating the best environment for all students to achieve
academically at high levels.
- Assess individual school dynamics to identify programs,
practices, procedures, and policies which are Family Friendly;
and identify those that can lead to disenfranchised and
disengaged families.
- Using collected data, create and implement a measurable
planning process to create a Family Friendly School.
- Design a strategic support system to implement the Family
Friendly Program.
- Understand disaggregated student achievement data collection
to determine the effectiveness of and provide the ability
to attach measurement to family engagement and student
achievement.
- Develop a short-term and long-range plan to ensure a connected
culture is created and sustained for the achievement of
all students.
- Determine the steps required to reinvent and refresh
the commitment to a family friendly school.
Who Should Participate?
The Engage! ™ All Families
Workshop establishes the value of dynamic relationships in
the social, emotional, and academic well being of each child.
Each school represented at a conference should include 6-12
people which will serve as the cadre team throughout the process.
Schools should carefully select a balanced group that is representative
of their leadership, staff, families and community. Please choose
an even mixture of school personnel, including the building
principal and staff representatives; parents, guardians, or
other family members, and/or other appropriate participants.
Because relationships and partnerships are stressed, it is imperative
that all of these groups be represented on each school cadre
team. Care should be taken to promote the involvement of those
parents or family members who previously may have been disengaged
with the school. This perspective provides valuable insight
into planning for success.
What Can Participants Expect?
Participants will experience interactive workshops,
and presentations with nationally recognized capacity
trainers. Participants will be able to experience, through
a unique process, how critical the need is for schools,
families, and students to work together for the academic
achievement of all students. Each team will leave the
conference with materials and knowledge that will act
as a catalyst for positive change upon the return to individual
schools.
Planning
Logistics, location, and food/refreshments are the responsibility
of the host school/district/organization. We can assist
with ideas and logistical preparations for those hosting
the conference. Help is always a phone call or e-mail
away.

for measurable planning. Schools not participating in the
FFS data collection process will be expected to collect
and disaggregate their own data subsequent to the conference.
